In September 1995, 40 African policy makers and researchers met in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, to examine African experience with agricultural transformation and identify actions needed to promote it. USAID's Office of Sustainable Development in the Bureau for Africa (AFR/SD) sponsored the workshop, in collaboration with the African Development Bank (ADB), the Institut du Sahel (INSAH), and Michigan State University (MSU).
