Abstract

On February 16th 2005, a meeting took place to discuss PASIDMA’s proposed capacity building program for food security action planning at the regional, district and commune levels.. The meeting brought together people from CSA, PASIDMA, Agriculture and Livestock & Fisheries Ministries, donors, and NGOs. It aimed at informing and receiving feedback and inputs from partners in order to improve the program. The participants were exposed to the expected outcomes of the program: the understanding of food security concepts and problems and the establishment of a functional partnership framework. The following recommendations were made to improve the program: involve government technical services in the process and put special attention into carefully selecting the local actors to be trained.
