Evaluación de los efectos macroeconómicos de los Fondos Estructurales y los Fondos de Cohesión (1995-1999) mediante Tablas Input-Output regionales integradas
This paper presents the results of an analysis of the macroeconomic impacts of investments by regions in Spain, using Structural Funds and Cohesion Funds of the EU. The analysis uses an input-output table derived from the last official national table available, developed with direct information (1995), and includes information on the production structures of the I/O regional tables available (consistent with regional accounts), and estimates for interregional-interindustry trade flows. The system has 26 industries, using SEC-95 accounts, 19 regions (17 Autonomous Communities, the Autonomous Cities of Ceuta and Melilla, together, and the public activities that are not regionalised, Extra-Region). The first part of the article shows, in a schematic way, the design of the interregional I/O table adopted for the computations. The second part portrays the results of the evaluation of the macroeconomic impact of Cohesion Funds and Structural Funds (received by the regions between 1993 and 1999), using a Leontief open input-output model.
