Die Bedeutung von "Codes of Conduct" für Multinationale Unternehmen

Abstract

Ebenso vielfältig wie die Motive und Arten der Internationalisierung von Unternehmen sind die wirtschaftlichen und (gesellschafts-) politischen Auswirkungen in den Heimat- und Gastländern. Einige Beispiele verdeutlichen die zweischneidige Einschätzung von MNU, die sich etwas pointiert mit der Frage umschreiben läßt, ob MNU eher als "Ausbeuter" gelten oder "Triebkraft" für wirtschaftliches Wachstum und gesellschaftliche Wohlfahrt sind. Da gleichzeitig aber auch ein umfassendes internationales Steuerungssystem für MNU fehlt, werden neben der Einhaltung bestehender gesetzlicher Regelungen weitere international gültige Richtlinien, sogenannte "codes of conduct" für MNU gefordert. Was solche Verhaltenskodizes leisten können und welche konkreten Ansätze es gibt, ist daher zentraler Gegenstand des vorliegenden Arbeitspapiers. Abgerundet werden die Überlegungen mit einem Ausblick auf weitere interessante Fragestellungen, die Gegenstand zukünftiger Forschungsarbeit sein sollen.
