In this paper, the author undertakes a comprehensive survey of the theoretical and empirical literature on the evaluation of active labour market policies (ALMPs). The contribution of the paper is to provide more accessible and practical guidelines for policy evalutaion targeted at a wider audience, including policy makers and practitioners.
