La sostenibilidad de la política fiscal en el Perú: 1970-2005

Abstract

El presente estudio analiza la historia del déficit fiscal peruano en el período 1970-1996. El estudio tiene dos objetivos. El primero es construir un indicador de la situación fiscal libre de la influencia del ciclo económico; es decir, un déficit macroeconómicamente ajustado (DMA), que permita ver la posición fiscal subyacente. El segundo objetivo es construir indicadores de sostenibilidad fiscal, que puedan ser útiles para prevenir futuros ajustes. Estos ejercicios no solamente son útiles para analizar la historia fiscal pasada, sino que pueden servir para el análisis del futuro comportamiento del déficit fiscal.
