Abstract

Desde 1996 em sucessivas edições anuais, o Informe MERCOSUL vem acompanhando os aspectos mais importantes do desenvolvimento econômico e comercial desta entidade regional, criada pelo Tratado de Assunção, de 1991. O trabalho aqui apresentado se inscreve em um âmbito mais amplo das atividades realizadas pelo Banco Interamericano de Desenvolvimento (BID) e se destina a examinar e fortalecer os processos de integração regional e multilateral da América Latina e do Caribe. O objetivo a que o BID-INTAL se propõe com a publicação desta série de periodicidade anual é observar e analisar a evolução econômica do MERCOSUL durante os meses cobertos pelo trabalho. A seleção de assuntos e enfoques foi realizada tomando em consideração um amplo e variado público-alvo -o meio acadêmico, o setor público, o setor privado e a sociedade civil em geral- que ao longo de todos estes anos tem demonstrado interesse por esta publicação...
