Abstract

As from the signing of the Asunción Treaty in 1991, the Southern Common Market [MERCOSUR] has been a model case for assessing the success and challenges of the integration process underway in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through the publication of this MERCOSUR Report, INTAL's intention is to facilitate access to information by potential readers who are interested in this region. Furthermore, the aim is to convey the interest that MERCOSUR arises at the sub-regional level, facilitating dissemination to the international community through the publication of a report in English, besides both official languages in the region: Spanish and Portuguese.
