Initiatives Don't Sell Themselves: Lessons Learned from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Conversion Offer 2009-2010
AbstractStaff from five Bank departments (FIN, ITE, VPS, RMG and LEG) formed a core team that designed and executed the largest IDB conversion offer to date, and one of the largest liability management operations ever executed by emerging markets. The team learned that the design of an optional, cost neutral and scalable initiative needs to be accompanied by an effective outreach strategy and constant responsiveness to client's needs.
