AbstractPresentation delivered during the event "Experiencias de Provisión y Financiamiento de Infraestructura bajo Asociaciones Publico-Privadas", held in the Inter-American Development Bank headquarters, Washington D.C., December 8-9, 2005. It outlines the "ingredients" that are needed in order to develop good and effective Public Private Partnerships. It describes the typical process of project financing, what lenders do not like, the role of the public sector, and lessons learnt from past experiences.
