Abstract

. La finalidad del presente trabajo es estudiar la situación financiera y crediticia de los municipios españoles desde 1995 hasta 1999 con información individualizada de 1.001 municipios españoles. En especial, dos son las cuestiones que pretendemos abordar con nuestra investigación. Primero, queremos evaluar el grado de cumplimiento de los controles que sobre la solvencia financiera de los municipios establece la normativa nacional. El segundo objetivo tiene como finalidad realizar una aproximación econométrica al endeudamiento de los municipios españoles a través de la estimación con microdatos de un panel, estableciendo un conjunto de hipótesis explicativas para la deuda municipal que se someterán a verificación empírica.
