Abstract

本稿では、これまでの日本の先行研究ではほとんど扱われることのなかった、子どもの健康管理とその意思決定の主体である親を含めた家庭環境との関係性を明らかにすることを目的としている。具体的には、子どもの医療需要や受診行動がその親の社会階層や家庭環境によって影響を受けるのか、また影響を受けるのであれば、どの程度まで左右されているのか、実証分析を通して明らかにする。推計の結果からは、親の所得と外来通院の回数との間には有意な関係性は観測されなかった。また、配偶者の専業主婦（夫）、パート、フルタイムといった就業状況や親の選好や歯磨き習慣といった家庭の環境が子供の通院日数に影響を持っていることが確認できた。以上の結果から、子供の医療需要は、親の学歴や所得といった社会階層そのものよりも、配偶者の就業状況といった夫婦の時間配分行動や親の生活習慣などの要因によって大きく規定されていることが示唆された。
