Abstract

Cet article propose une étude économétrique dans le cadre d'un modèle gravitationnel du lien entre les conditions sociales prévalant dans un pays et ses exportations. Il s'appuie sur un indicateur original de conditions sociales : le Responsible Competitiveness Index (RCI) calculé en 2007 par l'organisation AccountAbility qui délivre la norme internationale AA1000. Les régressions montrent sans ambigüités une relation positive entre la responsabilité sociale des pays et leurs exportations. La relation n'est pas linéaire mais décrit une courbe en cloche : la relation est d'autant plus forte que le pays a un faible niveau de responsabilité sociale (pays du Sud), tandis qu'elle peut devenir négative pour les pays ayant un niveau élevé de responsabilité sociale (pays du Nord).
