Abstract

El objeto de la presente ponencia es profundizar en el análisis de la iniciativa monetaria más relevante que el gobierno de San Martín desarrolla durante la guerra de Independencia, El Banco Auxiliar de Papel Moneda. El estudio centra la investigación en el análisis comparativo entre el modelo presentado y la obra de referencia, el Ensayo económico sobre el sistema de la moneda-papel y sobre el crédito, de José Alonso Ortiz publicada en Madrid en 1796 y reimpresa en Lima en 1822, con claras influencias smithianas.
