Abstract

This article traces the evolution of Latin American studies in Serbia, from the emergence of research on Latin America in Yugoslavia and the fading of this field of study that came along with the Balkan crisis of the 1980 s and 1990 s and the Yugoslavian dismemberment, to the resurgence verified through the last years and the possibilities that the future may bring in the realm of this discipline.
