Abstract

Des difficultés conceptuelles et méthodologiques surgissent dès lors que l'on veut discuter de l'intégration de l'altérité dans une société donnée, quelle qu'elle soit. Ici, il s'agit de l'intégration des immigrés à la société française. Les enjeux structurant une telle thématique sont scientifiques, culturels, idéologiques mais aussi éminemment politiques. Quelle terminologie retenir ? Intégration ? Assimilation ? Adaptation ? Acculturation ? Que signifie la société française ? D'où, de qui, sur quels fondements puise-t-elle sa légitimité ? Comment en devient-on membre ? Dans quel cadre s'applique ces politiques d'intégration ? Quelle est la catégorie sociologique pertinente pour parler de la question des politiques d'intégration ? Doit-on choisir le terme " étrangers " ? " Immigrés " ? " Issus de l'immigration " ? " Minorités visibles " ? " Français d'origine étrangère " ? Enfin, quels sont les débats politiques mais aussi scientifiques qui interfèrent dans la décision des législateurs ?
