Abstract

The chapter explores the relationships between agriculture shaping patterns of landscape, identifying the main spatio-temporal processes. Factors critical to the success of agri-environmental schemes in a nature park in France are explored. Accounting for landscape management by farmers did pinpoint unforeseen effects of agri-environmental measures at farm and landscape level, assessing the joint production of commodity and non-commodity outputs from farming. The chapter also explores the relative effect of local agri-environmental measures on the projected evolution of landscape features at local level.
