Abstract

This communication calls into question the postulate concerning the structural boundary and the finite controllability of processes. Territories and processes are considered as delimited and controllable according to the bureaucratic model of structural configurations of organizations. In front of the separation (partitioning) and the divergent objectives of the hospital territories, we propose, as legitimate response necessary, two complementary concepts of performance management, "the logistics contact" and "the transversal integrator". These two concepts lead, at once, to the differentiation and integration. We demonstrate that they are the necessary translators in the definition and implementation of the organizational performance of the hospital, on condition that they have legitimacy with the four territories identified: Cure, Care, Control, and Cater.
