Abstract

La réforme du résultat par l'IASB fait désormais transiter par le compte de résultat des éléments qui restaient auparavant consignés en variation des capitaux propres. En plus du résultat net, ces autres éléments (OCI) contribuent à la formation du résultat "global". Cette évolution dans la présentation des états financiers soulève des interrogations sur le sens et la portée d'une telle réforme sur la mesure comptable de la performance des entreprises. L'article présente dans une première partie pourquoi le résultat comptable peut, par construction, être considéré comme l'indicateur ultime de la performance de l'entreprise. Puis il montre que l'apparition de dérogations aux principes généraux a conduit à remettre en cause la légitimité du résultat comptable. Enfin, il trace dans les grandes lignes les conséquences qui découlent du débat actuel sur les OCI.
