Abstract

Indicators have different structures. Some are words and they list what should be taken into consideration. Others quantify and may enlighten trends that may be desirable or not. Last are grounded in models that enable to link impacts of social activities to a natural system and its balance. All indicators may support claims. But modeling nature as a balance may be reductionist and may reduce resilience.
