Abstract

Quinze ans après sa création en 1999, la monnaie unique européenne sort difficilement d'une crise qui a mis son existence même en péril. Les gouvernements européens ont créé des dispositifs de secours, renforcé la coordination de leurs politiques et jeté les bases d'une union bancaire, tandis que la Banque centrale européenne faisait son possible pour assurer le financement de l'économie. En quelques années, l'architecture de l'euro a été profondément transformée. Ces réformes seront-elles suffisantes pour ramener la stabilité et la croissance ? La crise de la zone euro remet-elle en cause le projet même de l'Union monétaire ? Entièrement revu et mis à jour pour intégrer les effets de cette crise, ce livre s'est imposé comme la référence, rigoureuse et accessible, sur le fonctionnement concret de la monnaie unique européenne, ses apports et ses difficultés.
