Abstract

Dans ce papier nous analysons le problème de l'estimation d'une fonction de distance radiale. Comme les distances à la frontiere ne sont pas observées, il faut choisir une variable représentative. Ce choix est crucial car, non seulement il influence les résultats des distances estimées, mais aussi il conditionne les propriétés statistiques des estimateurs. Nous montrons qu'un choix judicieux consiste à prendre la norme du vecteur d'input (output) dans le cas d'une fonction de distance d'input (output), plutôt que l'un quelconque des inputs, comme celà a été fait jusqu'à maintenant.
