Abstract

Sur la base des concepts d'identites ouvrieres et syndicales, qui seront redefinis dans la premiere section, il est propose dans cet article de mieux cerner l'impact sur le syndicalisme des transformations en cours dans les milieux de travail. Deux phenomenes majeurs ont ete retenus, soit l'emergence de nouvelles identites ouvrieres et les nouveaux modes de cooperation patronale/syndicale, et ils seront respectivement abordes dans les deuxieme et troisieme sections. Il sera enfin traite, dans une quatrieme section, de l'impact de ces phenomenes sur les identites syndicales et deux modeles syndicaux seront alors proposes pour mieux distinguer les orientations auxquelles le syndicalisme est confronte. Cet article a certes principalement une visie theorique et, pour ce faire, il s'appuie sur une revue critique de la litterature pertinente, tant francaise, anglaise et americaine que canadienne et quEbEcoise. Il repose nEanmoins sur une recherche empirique portant sur les transformations de l'organisation et des relations de travail dans les usines du secteur des pates et papiers au Quebec.
