This paper presents a model of inter-regional household migration that extends recent developments in the literature in 2 important ways. First the interaction between the members of the household in the migration decision-making process is explicitely modelled through the application of the collective rational theory of the household to inter-regional migration. Second, the link between the underlying theory of household migration andd the relevant empirical specification for possible econometric testing is clearly defined through the transformtion of the collective rational model to a multinomial logit model.
