Abstract

De nombreux pays ont decide de reduire fortement ou meme de faire disparaitre leur dette publique. Utilisant un modele theorique a generations imbriquees, nous nous demandons si ceci peut etre optimal, tout d'abord a long terme et en tenant compte du risque qui affecte le revenu des titres prives qui remplacent les titres publics lorsque la dette publique est reduite. Nous examinons aussi, dans une optique de court terme, s'il peut etre favorable de retarder le moment ou la dette publique est ramenee vers un niveau optimal a long terme suppose plus faible que le niveau herite du passe.
