Abstract

L’Indice Globale della Fame 2015 (Global Hunger Index, abbreviato in GHI) – al suo decimo anno – presenta una misurazione multidimensionale della fame a livello nazionale, regionale e mondiale. Indica che sono stati compiuti dei progressi riducendo la fame dopo il 2000, ma c’è ancora molto da fare: i livelli di fame restano gravi o allarmanti in 52 Paesi. Il tema del rapporto di quest’anno sono i conflitti armati e il problema della fame. Guerra e fame sono strettamente associati. In effetti, la guerra è la causa principale della fame acuta e persistente, e i Paesi con i più bassi livelli di sicurezza alimentare sono spesso coinvolti in conflitti armati o ne sono recentemente usciti. Anche se conflitti e fame spesso procedono di pari passo, la storia ci ha mostrato che la fame non è un esito inevitabile dei conflitti.
