Abstract

The major objectives of the paper is to:- * to locate the Thiruvananthapuram district in the economic map of the State; *to document the structural and sectoral transformation of the district; *to analyse the agricultural and industrial development of the district; *to examine the human development scenario of the district vis-Ã -vis the other districts and spot out the gaps, lacks and mismatches; and *to throw sidelights into the growth dynamics of the district economy and evaluate the prospects for the future.
