Abstract

Most Governments in the Third World Countries have actively promoted cooperatives in the traditional sectors of the economy with a view to overcome the diseconomies of small size. Characterised as these sectors are by numerous small producers at the mercy of traders both in the input and output markets. [Working Paper No. 242]
