El impuesto óptimo a la gasolina en Guatemala

Abstract

El principal objetivo de este estudio es estimar los costos económicos que ocasionan las externalidades negativas que se derivan del consumo de gasolinas en Guatemala, así como el nivel de impuesto óptimo para aminorar dichas externalidades. Para ello se utiliza la metodología de Parry y Small (2005), la cual permite incluir las peculiaridades de cada país en materia de contaminación y otras externalidades por circulación vehicular.
