Abstract

Este documento é uma versão traduzida ao espanhol do primeiro capitulo do livro Population Aging and the Generational Economy: A Global Perspective, editado pelos professores Ronald Lee e Andrew Mason. O livro, elaborado no âmbito do projeto global das Contas Nacionais de Transferências, é o resultado de sete anos de pesquisas com a participação de mais de 50 economistas e demógrafos da África, América Latina, Ásia, Estados Unidos e Europa. Trata-se, por tanto, de uma referencia importante para a pesquisa e o desenho de políticas públicas relacionadas com o envelhecimento da população e o desenvolvimento econômico.
