Abstract

De toepassing van geaggregeerde milieu-indicatoren in economisch onderzoek vindt nog maar op een beperkte schaal plaats. Een belangrijke belemmering vormt de onvolledigheid van milieugegevens. Dit artikel beoogt een overzicht te geven van mogelijke indicatoren voor milieu en economie op macroniveau. Hierbij worden een aantal categorie-en onderscheiden; economische activiteiten als potenti‰le milieudruk, eigenlijke of effectieve milieudruk, milieukwaliteit en milieubeleid. Vervolgens wordt de empirische relatie tussen de verschillende geaggregeerde milieu- en macro-economische indicatoren onderzocht voor 12 OESO-landen.
