A comprehensive economic analysis of the office market in The Netherlands suffers from the notorious lack of adequate time series data. In this paper we attempt to remedy this and obtain a consistent set of time series describing the evolution of the most important aspects of office space in The Netherlands on a national level. The data that are available consist of three consistently measured time series and numerous ad hoc (gu)estimates of other variables. Using these data and definitions and simple assumptions regarding the relation between different office space variables we are able to reconstruct a dataset consisting of time series of new office space construction, net absorption of office space, existing and occupied stock of office space and vacant office space in The Netherlands covering the period 1974-1995.
