Abstract

Cet article est une Žtude empirique de la formation des croyances de survie et de leur impact sur les dŽcisions en matire de contrats d'assurance dŽcs. L'Žtude est menŽe sur un Žchantillon d'individus entre 45 et 65 ans, qui ont ŽtŽ interrogŽs sur leurs croyances de survie, leurs caractŽristiques de santŽ, leur situation socio-Žconomique ainsi que sur les caractŽristiques des contrats d'assurance dŽcs qu'ils possdent. L'impact des diffŽrentes maladies et du fait de fumer sur la croyance de survie observŽ confirme la rationalitŽ des personnes interrogŽes. Les caractŽristiques objectives ne sont cependant pas suffisantes pour expliquer les croyances car, une fois leur effet isolŽ, il reste un important ŽlŽment subjectif, qui peut tre liŽ ˆ l'attitude vis-ˆ-vis de l'incertitude. On montre par ailleurs que les dŽcisions d'achat d'assurance dŽcs et du capital assurŽ semblent prises sŽparŽment. On observe en effet que les variables expliquant les deux dŽcisions ne sont pas identiques.
