El análisis de la coyuntura económica: un ejercicio basado en modelos

Abstract

Este artículo se centra en la idea de que el análisis de la coyuntura debe basarse al máximo en modelos estadístico-econométricos, como forma de aumentar las garantías de objetividad del estudio. El artículo esta organizado de modo que a partir de la descripción de los problemas abordados y de las soluciones aportadas en los principales proyectos en los que ha trabajado el autor, se van apuntando distintas propuestas que han resultado operativas y que, con los años, han visto confirmada su utilidad para el análisis económico. Posteriormente, estas propuestas se han ido estructurando en diversos trabajos y se ha concluido con una metodología cuantitativa para el análisis de la coyuntura, que se resume en la sección séptima. El artículo termina señalando la posibilidad de utilizar modelos diarios sobre series de actividad, como consumo de energía eléctrica, para obtener indicadores semanales o mensuales al día siguiente de concluir la semana o el mes correspondiente.
