Aluguer e Venda de Bens Duráveis em Caso de Monopólio

Abstract

Uma empresa monopolista de bens duráveis pode, eventualmente, descer o preço dos seus produtos para atender à capacidade de pagamento dos consumidores de menor nível de rendimento. Alternativamente, pode optar pela forma de aluguer do durável que produz, evitando a descida dos preços em momentos futuros. No entanto, com inovação do produto os consumidores podem estar dispostos a pagar um preço superior relativamente ao que pagaram em momentos anteriores sendo, nestas circunstâncias, o lucro da venda superior ao do aluguer.
