La théorie et la modélisation macroéconomiques, d'hier à aujourd'hui

Abstract

L’objectif de cet article est de retracer l’histoire de la macroéconomie de ses débuts à nos jours en prenant en compte sa double dimension théorique et empirique. Elle a profondément marqué l’évolution des politiques économiques. Dans un premier temps, nous rappelons la triple démarche qui a donné lieu à son émergence, la Théorie générale de Keynes, le modèle IS-LM de Hicks et les premiers travaux économétriques de Tinbergen. Ensuite, nous examinons la période de dominance de la macroéconomie keynésienne dans la double dimension évoquée plus haut. Notre histoire se poursuit par l’examen de la remise en cause de cette macroéconomie impulsée d’abord par Friedman et ensuite par Lucas et autres auteurs nouveaux classiques. Ensuite, nous exposons les grands traits de la nouvelle macroéconomie, dynamique et stochastique. Pour terminer, nous nous interrogeons sur la contestation récente des modèles de cycle réel de la première génération.
