Abstract

Al terminarse la Guerra Europea ocurrió una verdadera fiebre de producción para proveer a los beligerantes, no solamente de productos agrícolas y materias primas, de que estaban exhaustos, sino de productos maquinofacturados. De ahí la fiebre comercial de 1919 a 1920, en que los precios estuvieron tan altos que excitaron nuevamente el aumento de la capacidad productiva. El lancashire, por ejemplo, vía entonces ensancharse sus fábricas a todo costo, lo que creó un gravamen de deudas que aún pesa sobre la industria del algodón e Impide su reorganización.
