Amartya Sen. Un nuevo examen de la desigualdad

Abstract

En este nuevo texto del premio Nobel de Economía, él se propone analizar tanto la desigualdad y las condiciones sociales que la generan ya fe que lo logra magistralmente apoyándose en sus brillantes trabajos anteriores. Sostiene sean que el asunto fundamental de la igualdad y su valoración es "la igualdad, ¿de qué? Pregunta ciertamente pertinente, dada la heterogeneidad social y que el autor considera que las teorías sobre ética social tienen en común la preocupación por la "igualdad de algo". Vale decir: los "igualitaristas" igualdad de rentas, los "igualitaristas del bienestar iguales niveles de bienestar, los "utilitaristas clásicos la igual ponderación a las utilidades de todos y los "libertarios" igualdad de derechos y libertades. Sen comienza por criticar la retórica igualitarista de que "todos los hombres nacen iguales" y por el contrario reconoce la diversidad humana en distintos aspectos: sexo, patrimonio heredado, ambientes naturales y sociales en que se vive, edad, propensiones a enfermar, capacidades etc. Esta diversidad es fundamental para la valoración de las demandas de igualdad.
