Impacto de los precios internacionales del petróleo WTI y los alimentos en la inflación y en el crecimiento sectorial y macroeconómico en Colombia. Un análisis para el siglo XXI

Abstract

Esta investigación busca analizar dos tópicos, en primer lugar, los impactos que en Colombia tienen los precios internacionales del petróleo (referencia WTI) y los alimentos (carne, lácteos, azúcar, aceites), sobre los diferentes sectores económicos con los que poseen vínculos directos. En segundo lugar, estudiar los efectos de estos precios sobre la inflación y el crecimiento del producto en la economía nacional. Para estos dos objetivos, se realiza entre 2000 y 2011, un análisis estadístico mediante modelos VAR, determinando a partir de estos, causalidades de Granger, funciones de impulso-respuesta, y descomposiciones de varianza. Los datos utilizados son los índices de precios de alimentos de la FAO, el precio del petróleo WTI, los PIB sectoriales, el producto agregado, y el índice de precios al consumidor (general y sin alimentos).
