Abstract

Este trabajo describe los rasgos básicos de las armas de fuego homicidas en Bogotá para el ano 2002. El trabajo describe el tipo de armas, el calibre y la distancia de disparo. Se presentan una serie de hipótesis de trabajo con respecto a los agresores y el oficio criminal. También se hace un análisis económico de la relación entre la probabilidad de captura y el aumento de la capacidad del Estado para identificar armas a partir de proyectiles homicidas. La conclusión del trabajo es que si el Estado mejora su capacidad para identificar armas muy probablemente disminuya el volumen de homicidios contratados.
