Abstract

Una aproximación a la evolución de este sector pecuario se presenta para Colombia, bajo el contexto de los ciclos ganaderos en el sacrificio. Las diferentes dinámicas de la producción ganadera por género confirman la existencia de una oferta permanente de machos y una oferta cíclica e irregular para el sacrificio de hembras, que responde de manera inversa a los cambios en los precios de ganado en ferias.
