Abstract

ResumenRecientemente, las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TIC) forman partede los temas de desarrollo. En Colombia los mayores esfuerzos son realizados porel Gobierno, aunque existen algunos programas de iniciativa mixta y privada. Sinembargo, en el panorama rural siguen existiendo grandes disparidades en aspectosrelacionados con conectividad y uso de las TIC, surgiendo inquietudes sobre laefectividad de estos programas para promover el desarrollo rural. Es importantedetenerse en estos aspectos y analizar si estas iniciativas han contribuido o no adisminuir las problemáticas de las zonas rurales, qué desafíos enfrentan y qué sepuede aprender de otras experiencias exitosas. Este artículo presenta un análisiscomparativo entre el esquema actual de implementación de TIC en zonas rurales de Colombia y experiencias similares de otros países en vía de desarrollo paradeterminar si esta herramienta puede ser una estrategia para impulsar el desarrollo enzonas rurales del país.
