Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo es investigar, de forma exploratoria, los determinantes del comportamiento de los ingresos operacionales de las empresas en Colombia. Se repasan las distintas teorías que explican el crecimiento y tamaño de las empresas y se estima un modelo de regresión por percentiles que permite validar las principales teorías sobre el tema. Se concede especial énfasis a la Ley de Gibrat. Esta ley establece que el crecimiento de una empresa en un período determinado es independiente de su tamaño en el período anterior.
