Abstract

Despite of important theoretical and practical criticism, estimations of the Natural Rate of Unemployment for Colombia have been suggested as a base for possible active labor market decitions. This document contributes to this discussion with surveys on the subject in two different but complementary issues: a historical survey about the development and meaning of the concepts of Natural Rate of Unemployment and Non Accelerating Inflation Rate of Unemployment, a survey of the studies that have estimated the Natural Rate of Unemployment for the Colombian Case. Finally, I make some suggestions for a new research agenda on the subject.
