Empleo, violencia y oportunidades para los jóvenes. Evidencia para América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

Este documento recopila y analiza la evidencia disponible sobre los vínculos entre oportunidades económicas, empleo y violencia asociada a jóvenes en América Latina y el Caribe. Como parte de una iniciativa liderada por El Centro Internacional de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo de Canadá (IDRC), este estudio reúne estudios teóricos y empíricos importantes, experiencias de intervenciones exitosas y recopila una serie de mejores prácticas a ser consideradas en futuras investigaciones y decisiones de política relacionadas con la inserción laboral, oportunidades económicas y violencia juvenil en la región. El estudio sugiere que la evidencia disponible no es suficiente para afirmar que mayores oportunidades económicas en los jóvenes se traducen en una reducción inmediata de la violencia.
