Abstract

El reclamo de la deuda ecológica se hace hoy en un contexto de crisis ecológica. Una crisis que alcanza tanto al propio mito del desarrollo económico y su capacidad ilimitada de generar riqueza y bienestar, como a la propia teoría económica que la sustenta. "Ya no es posible pensar, como hasta hace poco, que los seres humanos progresan siempre en una dirección positiva y que ese progreso resulta prácticamente ilimitado". En nombre de una confusión interesada entre crecimiento y desarrollo6, los países del Norte y del Sur persisten, por distintas causas, en la destrucción sistématica del medio ambiente. Los estados del Norte por la contaminación industrial y los estados del Sur por la creciente pobreza desestabilizan constantemente los equilibrios ecológicos. Lógicas económico-políticas totalmente absurdas permiten el mantenimiento de esta situación.
