Cuarenta años de crecimiento económico en la Unión Europea: factores determinantes

    Abstract

    Tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Europa ha experimentado un proceso de crecimiento que le ha llevado a consolidarse como una de las áreas económicas más poderosas del planeta. En este trabajo se pretende determinar qué factores han permitido que Europa haya alcanzado la situación actual de desarrollo desde diferentes puntos de vista. En primer lugar, se ha considerado una perspectiva comparada con las otras dos áreas más importantes en la actualidad: Estados Unidos y Japón. En segundo lugar, se analiza el proceso de convergencia que se ha producido entre los países de la Unión Europea. Por último, se toman diferentes modelos de crecimiento económico y se procede a su estimación, con el fin de localizar y valorar la incidencia de algunos factores concretos en el crecimiento económico europeo.
