Note: The new Basel II Framework will be implemented in Australia from 1 January 2008. This discussion paper introduces a draft of the first of APRA?s Basel II prudential standards, APS 112 Capital Adequacy: Standardised Approach to Credit Risk. APRA expects that the vast majority of Australian banks, building societies and credit unions will use the Basel II standardised approaches in determining their regulatory capital charge.
