Abstract

In its 1999 Annual Report, APRA identified its main goals and objectives in the following terms: be a world-class prudential supervisor; to establish effective and efficient prudential standards for the institutions it supervises; to operate in a flexible, open and accountable manner; and to be forward looking in approach, applying best-practice, risk-based techniques to the supervision of financial entities.
