Competitividade Do Agronegócio Cearense No Mercado Internacional : O Caso Da Amêndoa Da Castanha De Caju E Melão

Abstract

Objetivou-se analisar a competitividade das exportações de produtos selecionados (amêndoa da castanha de caju (ACC), melão) do agronegócio cearense, no período de 1998 a 2003. Para tanto, utilizaram-se indicadores de desempenho das exportações: Indicador de Vantagem Comparativa Revelada (VCR), Taxa de Cobertura (TC) e o modelo Constant Market Share (CMS). Verificou-se queda das exportações da ACC cearense a qual foi decorrente principalmente de perdas de competitividade, em menor proporção, do efeito destino das exportações. O melão apresentou substancial incremento na pauta de exportação inclusive com a inserção de novos mercados. O crescimento das exportações é explicado, basicamente, pelo efeito competitividade que foi influenciado por condições internas favoráveis como os incentivos governamentais para o desenvolvimento da agricultura irrigada em especial fruticultura irrigada.
